I find it amazing that most of these guys get paid so little by the UFC to fight. They have to sacrifice a lot, which is of course their choice, and get paid on average very little. Most of these undercard fighters only fight once or twice a year in the UFC so they aren’t getting rich.I need to find out about the insurance side of it. Are medical bills paid for? Check these injuries out from the latest UFC fights.

I think that sponsorships is how some of them make up for their salaries. Quite a few do supplement ads and wear sponsored gear.
If they are fighting only once or twice a year then sponsorships aren’t getting much exposure. If you consider that at least one time the UFC had a million paid PPV events. At $44 each that is $44 million. If they keep a percentage and possibly keep $28 million and only pay the fighters $750,000 for an event, that is a very low cost for product.
I read an article today about a fighter grumbling about the reality show watering down the competition. That is good business for the UFC. They get paid from the reality show to build up these guys once a week and then keep using name people for another year. If you have a break out fighter like Serra, who beats Hughes, all the better.
Forrest Griffin is exactly who Dana prays will come out of every reality show. Good business but will keep the fighters from earning big money.
