Lance Bass Got A Divorce, From A Woman

toycouple-freedigitalphotos.jpg via - freedigitalphotos.com

If you heard the news that he was there when Britney got the quickie marriage way when, now we know why he could understand her pain. He got married and divorced after a quick Vegas wedding to a female friend.

This commercial is more interesting after learning that Bass is gay.

Ashley Olsen Was Sitting On Lance Armstrong Lap, What?

toycouple-freedigitalphotos.jpg

I guess it isn’t that weird that a 36 year-old (ahem) guy is dating a 21 year-old but the fact we have seen the Olsen Twins grow up and they look like skeleton bag ladies, this all seems creepy.

GPS Versus Police Radar

radar.jpg

A 17 year-old was busted for going 62 mph in a 45 mph zone. His dad, a retired sheriff, disagrees. He grounded his son before for going 70 mph. He fitted the car with a GPS and an added function to track speed.

The sheriff’s experience allows him to say that the radar gun is fallible because of the human factor and thus says that his kid wasn’t speeding. If this does work, I don’t think it will work for long because people will find ways to hack it.

87 Wrong Predictions About The Future

I love when it when we can see how much people “in the know” get it wrong.  With all of the media they need to find people to be experts and talk to make prognostications.  Just as we saw with the Flat Earth Society there are people on every side of each idea.

«Democracy will be dead by 1950
John Langdon-Davies, A Short History of The Future, 1936.

«And for the tourist who really wants to get away from it all, safaris in Vietnam»
Newsweek, predicting popular holidays for the late 1960s.

«That virus is a pussycat.» -– Dr. Peter Duesberg, molecular-biology professor at U.C. Berkeley, on HIV, 1988.

«Sensible and responsible women do not want to vote
Grover Cleveland, U.S. President, 1905.

Here are the rest.

Has Someone Already Done The Rabbit’s Foot?

chickenfoot.jpg

Just weird enough it should sell.  The rabbit’s foot is just an obvious idea but this one could spawn a whole line of animal feet.   In searching for a rabbit’s foot usb drive, which I didn’t see, I found a dog humping your laptop usb drive.

30 Days Of Night

30daysofnightpostersmall.jpg

I liked 30 Days of Night.  It was extremely stylistic and played to that very well.  Unfortunately with any well known concept like Vampires or Zombies audiences come in with preconceived ideas. Filmwad didn’t like it for a few reasons.

I try to go with the concept and world the movie sets up.  If they break it, they lose me a little bit.  In Daredevil, he couldn’t save Elektra because he was too hurt.  5 minutes later he fights Bullseye with the same injuries.

I agree with Filmwad that the best scene is floating downshot of the town.  Just amazing.  There were a couple of scenes that I questioned but I have seen enough to realize I have to be open to someone else’s interpretation. My friends and I liked it.  I can’t agree that it was just gore especially after seeing Saw 4.  It gave  me chills at points.

The ending wasn’t what I was expecting.  I hope I get around to seeing what the comic book did with it.

Fun stuff.
